Can I upload a placeholder file for my paperback on kdp and switch it out before the release date? The formatting is taking longer than I expected but I wanted it posted for pre-sale on June 1

No idea if I am royaly messing up my manuscript. I feel like I get it and then I dont understand why some feature seems to not work. Followed the margin recs for my genre (middle grade) now it feels like my book is too long. The leading looks way too big but if I shrink it it looks way to small. 36000 words = over 200 pages? That can't be right.
I dont know what I need. Don't know why im posting. Heading to bed so I can deal with 74 6th graders on the last Friday of the school year. Ill be the grumpy almost middle aged man in the back of the room if you need me.
Thinking about writing something christmas adjacent and having it up on Kindle unlimited during the holiday season. Does anyone know if there is an actual market for that? Do people read christmas books like they watch christmas movies?
Anyone have any success with writing a christmas story and having it on Kindle Unlimited during the holiday season? Had the thought today but didnt know if people read christmas stories like they watch christmas movies
I was really disappointed last night when I finally put my manuscript into Kindle Create and saw that I can't choose my font or size or spacing. It looks great in ebook but cheap for POD. Are there any free options out there that have better customization?
I see a lot of posts about writing/editing in one program and then formatting in another. Can someone be super clear with me?
By "formatting" are we just talking about margins and pages? We are talking about fonts and font sizes right? What about space between lines? Chapters starting halfway down the page? Page numbers? Headers?
What needs to be done in formatting (with Reedsy or Kindle Create or whatever) and what needs to be done in the document prior to moving it over?
While draining water backed up and started pouring out of this pipe/opening. Checked septic line and not backed up. Who do I need to call? Is this a plumber issue?
Im about to publish a middle grade novel and went to browse Amazon's listing. Many of them have what I would think is a disingenuous subtitle. They basically look like
Title:A Middle Grade Adventure for Boys 9-12
I understand this is for marketing but isn't doing that against kdp rules since it's not the books real subtitle?
Putting the finishing touches on my book in Google Docs. Did a quick search and many many places are saying do not use Google Docs and expect it to go right when you begin formatting.
I asked the KDP sub and got mixed answers.

Classroom full of 12 year olds. All rambunctious from a day of state testing. I put on Castle in the Sky. From the first second everyone went silent.
Thanks Miyazaki
Is it a problem to put a place holder file in order to get my pre-order running? My manuscript is done but I'm still formatting.

Im putting finishing touches on a middle-grade novel with a tennis motif. I had the idea of adding a tennis ball next to chapter numbers. I know that adding pictures adds to the download size which then affects royalties. Would a few small clip arts add that much?

The audiobook is well done but im having a little trouble with the story telling. I suspect if I were reading it instead of listening then I'd be able to follow it more easily. Has anyone listened to it? Should I stick it out? im almost 3 hours in.
