Replacement control knobs
I have two Levoit air purifiers (model LV-H126). One has a broken control knob, the other (shown in the photo) has a cracked knob that will be broken soon. They just fit onto a D-shaft on the air purifier. These are obviously replaceable parts, but I don't know where to find them in the correct size. The vendor won't send me new knobs. These are 3/4" in diameter and the D-shaft is 1/4" along the flat edge. Any advice on where to find replacement knobs?
Can't remove license plate remove due to strange plastic nuts
I've been trying to remove my old rear license plate to swap in a new one for the past few hours, but the screw just wouldn't turn. It turned out that there's a plastic nut holding it behind, which I've felt by poking a finger through the tiny access hole.
The plastic nut/insert is cylindrical for some reason, and there's no anchor points for my fingers to remove it. The access hole is too tiny to fit any sort of pliers into it to hold the nut in place. I tried the typical advice of using a typical flathead screwdriver to excert an outward force on to it while attempting to loosen it, but it did not work.
The saddle valve for our ice maker line is leaking. Is it better to just do a direct replacement or should we change the setup?
I normally avoid electrical or plumbing, but I’m otherwise pretty handy. I saw this valve was leaking, so I figured it should be easy enough to just replace it. I looked up a few how-to videos and they all seem to recommend cutting out that section of pipe and crimping/soldering in a new T fitting. Would it be the end of the world if I used a new saddle valve or should I put in the 3-way fitting?
What is happening to my fridge?
Can someone please help me deduct what this is? It just popped up this week and it’s making me crazy!
I’m 43 single live alone and rent, help is greatly appreciated.
Maybe stressed compressor? A loose fan blade? It stops when the compressor stops, it will stop when I open the door but start back up. It stops when I slightly tip the fridge back. It’s a massive fridge and I’m not sure if I can pull it out from the wall solo. I’d like to try and manage it before calling my landlord .
Thank you!
How do I fix a spring loaded car launcher
Image 1, mechanism at rest. Image 2, what’s happening when I try to make it work. Image 3, what it looks like when it does work.
We press it, it doesn’t shoot. The second image shows as far as it goes.
This is a spring thingie for my son’s Spiderman car track that shoots the cars out. Been futzing with it for days and can’t figure it out 😅
How do I fix it? The plastic thingy broke and replacement is expensive or hard to find cheap part
I need help finding bed legs
I need to find shorter bed legs for my adjustable bed frame. It's an old model, the current legs thread size is 7/16th 14 course, which I've found out is a very unusual size.
I bought some kits off Amazon that had adapters, but none of them worked. In the photo, I'm holding the og bed leg, and the rest are the ones I've bought off Amazon.
I have a surgery coming up and have to have the adjustable bed frame part, otherwise I'd just buy a shorter bed.
Can this be replaced without doing the whole door?
The door jam and this 2x6 underneath it are rotting and recently water / mold is starting to get into our kitchen. The door goes to a back patio.
Is there anyway to replace this without replacing the whole door + door frame?
The bearing on my robot vacuum’s rolling brush
Edit: Appreciate all the replies!! Going to give cleaning with solvent/oil a try but will likely just order a new roller (duh, can’t believe I didn’t think of that!)
———————————-
Despite being hidden under a silicone cap and other housing, this bearing regularly gets clogged up with dog hair and needs to be cleaned out. Today, the washer on the top of the bearing popped off and exposed a horrifying amount of gunk inside.
I’ve tried picking some of it out but realize that it would take hours and likely just build up again.
That being said, how can I replace this bearing? It measures 11mm in diameter and is attached by a metal rod underneath (though I’m not sure how it’s attached).
Also open to tips on cleaning it out if replacing it isn’t an option.
TIA!
How to fix door corner hinge
Tried to make a door corner hinge to let cats in/out of room while keeping baby from being able to squeeze through. When hinge closed it sits pretty flush with floor, however I can't open/close it without scraping the floor hard(not sure its even possible)
Any ideas for solutions? Saw something about a butt hinge but unsure if that will fix it.
Someone keyed my rental car
I was parked at a shopping center and when i came out i noticed this on my rental car. I can feel it when i touch it.

Do I need to anchor this loft bed to the wall?
I’m moving into a rental and I’m sharing my room with someone. I wanted to get this loft bed to maximize space and storage but I’ve just realized that I can’t anchor it to the wall (because it’s a rental and I can’t put any holes into it). Also my closet would be on the side with the LED lights so even if it wasn’t a rental, I would be blocking my closet.
Does anyone know if this frame is sturdy enough as a free-standing loft? I’m scared that I’ll climb it and it’ll tip over or break.
PS. If it helps your calculations or opinions at all I’m F(22), 5’0 and 114lbs.
Sick of scammers and price gouging. Gonna try it myself.
The exterior of my house is stucco, which I feel should be illegal in the Midwest or anywhere with hot summers and cold winters. In previous years (been here for 15 years) I’ve had zero luck finding a stucco repair company/person in my area that doesn’t charge an insane amount of money for basic repairs. Now this happened. Water was getting behind the stucco for some time as seen by the water damage here. The wall came off after repeated days of heavy wind and rain. The few people I’ve called out to inspect and quote me are either asking way too much ($3,250 in one case) to being reasonable but have alarmingly terrible reviews (took deposit and didn’t do work, etc).
I was hanging with some friends and they said that they’d help me repair this for a case of beer. They convinced me it’s pretty simple: replace the wood, slap some stucco on it, and let it dry. Then do it again.
Is it really that simple? I’ve decided I’m going to try this myself. I’ve already bought the plywood strips and just need to wait until the weather cooperates (area is currently covered by plastic sheeting.
Please help a frustrated homeowner take matters into his own hands.
Sick of waiting on "the guy" hired to do this job. Can i do this myself?
Husband hired a guy. Landlord hired a guy. Both flaked. It's been months. I just want my shower. #edit because Landlord is family. Hiring "some guy" is the only way they'll go about it.
Suction mount doesn’t suction anymore

Had water damage underneath window
I had some water damage underneath a window. I cut out the plaster and board it was on.
I am spraying the wood down with vinegar, will put some new insulation followed by a piece of osb(to get the drywall flush with the rest of the wall.
Any help on what I need to do going forward would be greatly appreciated.
Wayfair dresser said to tighten bolts all the way, it broke through the top of the dresser - any recommendations for make this look less bad?
How to I remove the scratches from this chair?
Just bought this new set of kitchen chairs and I didn’t realize as I was transporting them that one of them was getting scratched up. Is there any way to fix this or will this just be a lesson learned?
