Kitchen Sink Trap
It’s my first time cleaning out my kitchen sink trap because the smell that was emitting. I found part of the problem as there was a solid caught just before the trap but after running my fingers along the edges of the connecting pipes was a brown and dark grey sludge? i mean it smells like death and has the consistency it poop. is there anything other than replacing that i can like run a homemade concoction down or buy a drain cleaner to clean the pipes?
Landlord won’t fix this, what can I do?
Luckily we have two showers, this one has been broken for over a year. He had his repair man look at it once while replacing the water heater, then never came back. He’s been ghosting us and two weeks ago needing to meet regarding a rent increase, only to keep ghosting us! I just want my shower to work, I’ve been looking into universal handle replacements but genuinely have no idea what I’m doing
Dark splotches on induction stove surface. My client doesn't know how it happened.
- Dawn and warm water did not fix it.
- Wieman glass cooktop cleaner and polish did not work.
- The surface is flat, they are not burnt stuff and cannot be scraped off with a razor.
Tried fixing Faucet
My faucet was leaking so I tried replacing O rings and apply grease. But it still leaks. What should I do in this case?
Furnace Settling - Gap in Ducting
Hi there. My basement is very old and my furnace is relatively new ~5 years old. I noticed this weekend that settling has happened and now there is a gap above the first main piece of the furnace nearest the floor and the next component. I’m not familiar with hvac terminology. Air blows out of this gap and I can see that it was sealed at one point. Is this something I can fix myself with duct tape or should I get a furnace tech out to level the system and seal the gap again?
Edit #1 - Thanks for all of these responses! Very helpful. What I’ve realized now that I’ve thought through it more is I know what the cause is after all. We had the main floor joist raised and added additional posts a few months ago to level out the main floor. Obviously that raised all of the duct work and lifted the furnace causing this issue. I didn’t notice at the time and neither did the contractor. I think you all are right that I need to shim it up so that the gap closes then use hvac tape to seal it back up.
Help me identify this strike plate (keeper) for an aluminum sliding window
Hi everyone!
I'm trying to identify this strike plate (keeper) from an aluminum sliding window. I live in Brazil and I've already searched many hardware stores and window suppliers, but nobody recognizes it.
I've included photos and measurements. Does anyone know the manufacturer, model, or if there is a compatible replacement available?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Back couch cushions sagging, can’t remove.
Hi folks, we have a large sectional couch that has a couple back cushions sagging. The corner couch cushions are sagging bag in one spot (pictured) and another spot too (not pictured.) Any suggestions on how we can fix it? We realistically could do with a new couch but we don’t have it in the budget any time soon with higher priority home projects or kid costs.
The back cushions are fully attached to the couch and there is no space or place to fill in the cushion.
Thanks for any suggestions in advance.
Bulb holder of lamp not working. How to fix it?
Anything I can do to fix it? Tried different bulbs... For a brief moment the bulb did light but then went off again. What can be wrong?
How to open this children's toy traffic light 🤷♂️
Anyone know how to open this children's toy traffic light without destroying it?
It looks like a sealed unit as I can't find any screws other than battery compartments and one in the hole where the pole fits.
It's sold on Amazon under the brand name of 'Hiboom' and made in China.
It stopped working and it's not the batteries.
Need to install new toilet seat but my attachment is different than every tutorial video I can find. How do I remove it?

need to re-glue or somehow repair this plastic handle that broke off
dropped my water bottle (40oz reduce brand from target) on asphalt and it cracked. the handle is attached to a plastic circular piece that goes around the bottle. i first tried combining superglue with baking soda to fill the gap. the plastic was too tight around the metal bottle to get it to fully close around it again. putting any weight on the handle (like just holding the bottle) snapped it. tried a last minute small coat of nail glue, which didnt hold at all. i need something i can use to fix it without looking super noticeable or ugly that can withstand the weight of 40oz of water
Pressure Washer can’t maintain pressure.
My pressure washer can’t maintain full pressure. If I let go of the trigger and pull it again, it gets instantaneous full pressure and immediately reverts back to lower pressure as shown in the video. It happens with all tips and not just the soap tip shown.
I last used it about two months ago and it was operating normally for about an hour and a half and as I was finishing up my cleaning, this problem arose. I pulled out the unloader valve and it appears to be functioning properly. Checked inlet and high pressure holes and checked for debris and still not resolved.
It’s a craftsman 3000 PSI model CMXGWAS020808.

Welder not working
Ive checked the ground, made sure the surface was good, replaced the contact tip, checked the inside components to make sure no components were burned up or anything that looked off, everything seemed fine, checked all the wiring to see if anything was loose, everything was fine. I checked the ground wire to see if that was loose, i have no clue why its not working
Is this something I can fix myself?
The front hinge/arm mount on my DJI Air 2S broke, and I honestly have no idea how or when it happened. The last person to fly it was my husband, and it’s been sitting in its carrying case for months. We only noticed the damage when I took it out recently.
I’m pretty tech-savvy and have repaired PS5, Xbox, and Switch controllers before, and I’m comfortable soldering if necessary. I’ve also taken apart my consoles and my computer multiple times for cleaning, upgrades, and minor repairs, so I’m not completely new to working on electronics.
Is this something that’s realistically DIY repairable? Are there replacement shells or repair kits available? Does the repair require soldering, or is it mostly just a shell swap? Also, is this a common failure on the Air 2S, or did I just get unlucky?
Any advice, repair guides, parts recommendations, or things I should watch out for would be greatly appreciated!
How to open the middle main thing as it’s leaking

Swollen door from hanging towel
I made the mistake of hanging a wet towel on the bathroom door handle overnight and noticed this water damage this morning.
This is a brand new condo build we moved into/purchased so not sure if this is normal and I dun goofed or the builder cheaped out on the paint/door which let this happen.
Im inexperienced with this stuff but was wondering if I should try to fix this myself by sanding + wood filling + painting, get a new door of higher quality for the washroom or have a case for the builder to come fix it. Thanks in advance fellas
