I think expulsions will be inevitable in order to raise the tension and create a shock effect. I hope that 2-3 significant characters will be expelled, because >!Shinohara’s expulsion didn’t leave as strong an impression on me as Sakura’s (even though both Shinohara and Sakura didn’t contribute much to the class, it was expected that Sakura would become much more important, so the decision to expel her caused a shock, whereas there were no signs that Shinohara would become relevant to the class).!<

Here are some of my thoughts on who will be expelled by the end of the third year:

1. Hiyori (>!she is an important character, she clashed with Ichinose, but she hasn’t contributed much to her class!<).
2. Chihiro Shiranami (>!someone from Ichinose’s class will definitely be expelled, so we can see how Ichinose would deal with it, and Chihiro seems the most insignificant, yet still important to Ichinose!<).
3. Hashimoto (>!the traitor of the former Class A and Sakayanagi!<).
4. From Horikita’s class, I don’t think anyone else will be expelled anymore(>!possibly Kushida because of the things she did in the past, but since she was saved in Y3V4, I don’t believe she will be expelled!<).

Students who I think will be on future covers:

1. Ichika and Nanase - they are still highly relevant to the story and are the most important female students among the underclassmen (first-years/second-years).
2. The final volume - either just Ayanokoji, or Ayanokoji and Koenji, because he is the only one who can rival Ayanokōji and actually beat him if he genuinely tried his hardest.
3. Sudo and Hirata - the only male characters who have stood out in Horikita’s class besides Ayanokōji and Kōenji, and it would be nice to see their character arcs wrapped up there.
4. Matsushita & Haruka, as well as Sato & Kei.
5. Ishizaki, Kanzaki & Hosen - I can't think of any other characters from the other classes who could make it onto a cover.

With the Code Lyoko sequal finally announced, I wanted to share some of the things I’d love to see in Season 5, as well as a retrospective on what I liked about the previous seasons.

1) What I’d like to see in Season 5:

• 1.1) Jeremy and Sissi in Lyoko: It would be awesome to see them finally enter the virtual world.
• 1.2) The Volcanic Sector: I’d love to see the sector from Code Lyoko: Quest for Infinity brought into the series.
• 1.3) Aelita’s backstory: I want the truth about her mother, Anthea. Episode 82 hinted that she didn't die but disappeared. Also, it’s interesting that only Aelita and Anthea have pink hair, while everyone else has natural colors. I’d also love to learn more about Franz Hopper and Carthage.
• 1.4) No time skip: I’d prefer them to stay teenagers and keep their Season 4 outfits.
• 1.5) Character arcs: I want to see Aelita continue her journey as a DJ and for Odd to finally find a real love interest. I’m fine with leaving the Ulrich/Yumi and Jeremy/Aelita dynamics as they are.
• 1.6) X.A.N.A. and Hopper: I hope they find a way to bring back X.A.N.A., but also Franz Hopper. His sacrifice shouldn't be in vain. I really don't want a new antagonist; it wouldn't feel the same without X.A.N.A.
• 1.7) New monsters: I’d love to see new enemy designs, potentially building on the virtual warrior concept from Evolution.

2) What I liked about the previous seasons:

• 2.1) Season 1: I loved how creative and terrifying X.A.N.A.’s attacks were. While I prefer the later sector designs, the diversity in S1 was great (the mountains, the maze, the forest with the stream, the desert oasis). The only downside was the combat, it was a bit dull; it’s shocking how much they struggled with basic Kankrelats and Bloks back then.
• 2.2) Season 2: The story got much darker with the introduction of Franz Hopper, the Scyphozoa, and Sector 5. I also love the transport vehicles and the Tarantulas (my favorite monster). My only gripe is that too many towers were activated in the Ice Sector, while others were neglected.
• 2.3) Season 3: I loved that Aelita finally got combat powers and the concept of her being brainwashed by the Scyphozoa to destroy sectors. The William subplot was great too. My only wish is that this season had been 26 episodes long. They could have easily stretched the plot by having Jeremy restore the Forest and Desert sectors before the Mountain sector was destroyed, giving William more time with the team.
• 2.4) Season 4: The peak of animation: the Skidbladnir, the Replicas, materializing Lyoko warriors on Earth, and the Colossus. The fights were the most engaging, and the team really felt stronger. What I didn't like was missing out on a Mountain Sector Replica. Also, the inconsistency with Aelita’s wings was confusing, I initially thought they were one-time use, but later it seemed she could activate them multiple times. Lastly, X.A.N.A.’s attacks felt much weaker in this season.
