Lacchesi all night long at Essaiam – first time at the venue

26 M visiting Paris this week and I’m planning to see Lacchesi all night long at essaim on Thursday 8 October.

I’m into techno and will most likely be going solo. It’ll also be my first time at essaim and I don’t speak French, although obviously I can manage in English. I have bought my ticket through RA and checked the door policy and had a few questions about this -

How selective is the door in practice for someone going solo?

Is English generally fine at the door?

Is there anything specific about essaim etiquette that a first-timer should know?

Would appreciate advice from people who’ve actually been to essaim recently.

Edit - it was actually very chill . They asked me whether it was my first time and i told them the truth ofc , they then went on telling me the club etiquette .
Overall had a fun night!
Thanks for the suggestions everyone

France Schengen visa approved from Mumbai in 3 working days 🇫🇷 – self-employed applicant

26M/ Single /Freelance Physiotherapist /self employed
Just sharing my experience because I was honestly pretty stressed while waiting and Reddit helped me a lot.

I applied for a France short-stay Schengen visa business/professional visit category through VFS Mumbai BKC (premium lounge)
Timeline:24 Aug – VFS appointment and submitted application 25 Aug – under process at the French Consulate 27 Aug – processed and returned to VFS 28 Aug – received passport Visa approved (My visa is a short-stay Schengen visa with 30 days validity/stay granted.)

The quick processing actually made me nervous because I thought a decision in 2–3 days might mean rejection, but thankfully that wasn't the case.

Purpose of travel:
I'm an independent physiotherapist and I'm travelling mainly to attend a professional conference in Saint-Étienne, followed by a few days of tourism in Paris/Lyon.

I'm self-employed/independent, so I don't have regular salary slips. I explained my professional situation clearly through my cover letter and supporting documents.

Documents I submitted included:

  • Cover letter
  • Professional invitation letter
  • Proof of payment for the Conference
  • Signed/stamped letter confirming my ongoing professional association/practice in India
  • My 6-month bank statements + ITR
  • Mother's bank statements, ITR and salary documents as partial sponsor (made her a partial sponsor)
  • Sponsor letter
  • Return flight tickets
  • Accommodation bookings for the entire trip
  • Travel insurance
  • Detailed itinerary
  • Professional registration/membership
  • Copies of previous visas/stamps and old passports

Travel history:
I had previous international travel including Greece, Italy, Ireland, Canada, Qatar and Thailand, along with previous Schengen travel, so I included my old passports and visa/stamp history as well.

One thing I was slightly worried about was that the legal/company address on one of my professional documents was different from the actual location where I practise. I got the letter revised before submission so that the relationship between the company and practice address was clearly explained.

Overall, the process was much faster than I expected.

Posting this mainly for anyone who gets the “processed application has been dispatched/returned to VFS” message within just a couple of days and immediately assumes rejection , fast processing definitely does not automatically mean a refusal.

Happy to answer questions about the documents, finances, self-employed application or the Mumbai BKC VFS experience while it's still fresh. 🇫🇷✈️
