I used to love fishing, but haven’t done it in probably 15 years due to adult life getting so hectic. I just moved out in the gorge right near salmon falls on the Washougal. Anyone have suggestions for where to go to fish, and what exactly I should get/use in terms of size pole, type of tackle or bait? What works, what kind of fish would I be hoping to catch? The name salmon falls makes me really hopeful of salmon, but I’m not sure if they actually still make their way up the Washougal anymore these days. Happy to try out any suggested locations between the falls and town. My property actually borders canyon creek, but I’m assuming I’ll have a lot better luck if I drive a 1/2 mile from my house to somewhere on the Washougal.
