City Planning

Planning a 14–18 night Hokkaido trip in June and looking for advice.

Current rough plan:

• 2 nights — Sapporo
• 3 nights — Westin Rusutsu Resort
• 3 nights — Hakodate Onuma Prince Hotel
• Remaining nights — Fairfield by Marriott Hokkaido Minamifurano as our main base for exploring

Travel style: prefer Western hotels or high-quality local hotels that are foreign-friendly, comfortable, clean, and good for longer stays.

Interests:
- farms / countryside experiences
- dairy, ice cream, cheese, milk products
- nature walks / scenic drives / gardens
- flowers / early summer scenery (June)
- vintage shopping / antiques / thrift
- food, cafés, bakeries, local specialties

Questions:

  1. Is Fairfield Minamifurano a good long-stay base for exploring Furano/Biei, Tokachi, Daisetsuzan, Central/Eastern Hokkaido, etc.?
  2. Would you keep this plan or simplify it with fewer hotel moves?
  3. Any recommendations for June-specific stops, scenic drives, farms, dairy/ice cream spots, hidden gems, or must-see nature areas?

Traveling by rental car. Me, wife and a 9month baby.
