Did I make the right call?
This is for Warlock's, Voice of Dread spell card, recently I had a player who said that the spell couldn't be overheard by prying ears, I disagreed and pointed at the wording of spell and the fact it said you magically speak into the ears of someone.
They argued they could use it to project it inside of an ear canal and only the person the spell was targeting could be targeted and nobody else could hear the effect, I definitely thought that was a misreading of the spell card itself and told them that was my ruling on the matter. It's been bugging me and I was wondering if that was a good call?
edit: Yeah, I'll admit, I'm in the wrong here. thank you everyone for all the advice. I'm coming from 5e here, and I tend to fallback on the rules unintentionally, but this is not the TTRPG to do that in. Thank you!
