Am I the problem or is it the LA road system?

I’ve been driving for almost 2 decades and never popped a single tire. I moved to LA about 2 years ago bought a car with new tires shortly after and just had to replace a tire for the 5th time…

I live in encino/Sherman oaks area and work in west LA (no highways on the commute, just back roads over the hills- 5 days a week). I’m not driving a Ferrari or anything but it has thinner “performance/sport” wheels (although this hasn’t been a problem in any other city I lived in)

Am I the problem or is it the shitty bumpy and pot hole covered roads of LA?

Edit to bulk answer the same questions

Yes, lower profile tires, but didn’t have this issue in other cities (including nyc - lived in manhattan no car, and Long Island then NJ with low profile tires, never popped).

Tire issues - 2 potholes popped a tire. 1 nail, couldn’t be patched. 2 tread was worn down too much despite having less then 20k miles on it

No issues on highways, all popped tires are from back roads on my commute through Sherman oaks, Beverly Hills area. Not near construction sites
