For any young women that need to hear this, that is a red flag.

A guy doing that ("caused by" someone simply walking by on a public street) is belittling your independence and denying your identity. And "joking" about your identity is also a red flag. You're likely to find yourself apologizing "for him" into your future, instead of achieving things of your own.
