Long Shot Question: Lewellen NE Soda Fountain/Drug Store 1950?
Long shot, but fingers crossed. My Grandma grew up in Lewellen and met my Grandpa there when he was teaching in a one room schoolhouse. She worked at a soda fountain in a drugstore and "accidentally" short-changed my Grandpa over a strawberry milkshake. When he came back for the correct change, they ended up making plans that would last them 70+ years. He's gone now and she's in memory care. I'm hitting the road next year for an epic road trip and I want to make this one of my stops - in a way to keep their love story alive. Does anyone know where the old drug store in Lewellen would have been? Would love to be able to set foot in the spot where their lives together began. This would have been about 1950, give or take a year. Any help would be greatly appreciated! It would mean the world to me to be able to tell my Grandma that I went to the place where they first met. It's one of the few remaining memories that seems clear for her.
