Need Help with Abus 65/30
Hello everybody. I am kind of stuck at my first yellow level lock. I know there were posts before, but they couldn't give me the kind of advice I would probably need as I am kind of new to the hobby.
The problems I have are several:
I don't really feel or understand the feedback the lock is giving me. I know it is a 4 pin lock with one standard pin and 3 spool pins following it (which are the hardest for me to pick). But I don't quite feel which pin is binding and if I think I have one that's binding and try to pick it, the other ones don't give any response afterwards.
I don't know exactly where the pins are located and therefore am probably not picking any of the pins most of the time. I know I should probably mark it with sharpie but its my first real lock (other than a cut away lock) so I want to pick it cleanly so that I can recreate it with other tools as well.
I don't know which tools I should be using. The ones I have used for the cut away lock are hooks and tensioners from sparrows. But I am not sure which hook or tensioner I should use or if they even make a difference.
I probably have relied to much on the cut away lock and therefore have no idea what is wrong when it doesn't behave the way I want it to. When this would happen with the cut away, I would just look at it and see the problem. But now its the first time I don't see the problem and I believe that's the thing throwing me off the most.
What kind of advice could you give me to help me overcome the problems I have?
