Opening up a studio

I’ve been doing Lagree for almost a year now and have completely fallen in love with the method. What started as a workout I enjoyed has turned into something I’m seriously considering as a business opportunity.

I recently found a location in my hometown in Florida that I think would be perfect for a Lagree studio, and I’m hoping to open one within the next several months if everything falls into place. The area currently has no Lagree studios and no fitness options in general, so I feel like there’s a need for something like this.

My biggest challenge right now is figuring out where to start… I’m currently in nursing school and graduating soon, so my schedule is pretty tight. I’ve been researching certification, licensing, equipment, startup costs, memberships, and studio ownership, but I’m feeling overwhelmed by all the moving pieces.

For those who have gone through the process:
- How did you get started?
- What was your path to becoming certified?
- What were your startup costs?
- What do you wish you knew before opening?
- If you were starting from scratch today, what would your first few steps be?

I’ve seen that Lagree offers certification both online and in person. Because of nursing school, traveling to California for an in-person certification isn’t very realistic for me right now, although I’d much prefer hands-on training over a virtual format. Has anyone ever had a Master Trainer come to them, or is that only something done for larger groups or studios hosting a certification weekend?

I’d love to hear any advice from instructors or studio owners who have been through this process. I want to make sure I’m approaching this the right way before making any major decisions. Thanks! :)
