These are all going to be very basic questions because I have no idea what I’m doing. This hot tub is at least 15 years old, but the previous owners said it still ran well; no problems with it.
It’s a Vita Spa brand. The control panel is a TP600. The buttons are Jet 1, Jet 2, Temp Up, Temp Down, Light. There are also lights to indicate when things are operating - jets 1, jets 2, light, heat.
I filled it. Now I need to heat the water. I used the temp buttons to set it to 100. (No idea if that’s right, but was a nice round number.) Nothing happened, but I fiddled around enough that eventually something happened and the heat light turned on, so I assume it’s heating. I went back inside, came back out about 2 hours later, it has heated up to 72, but has turned off; nothing is happening. This repeats all day. Heats up for a little while, then the heating stops, well short of the set temp. Fiddle around, eventually get the heating to start, go back an hour or so later, the water is warmer, but it’s not running anymore. It’s almost 6:00 in the evening here, this has been going on since about 10.
I’m not surprised that heating up has taken all day, I expected that. But I don’t know how to make it just turn on and stay on. I called the place where the previous owners bought it, thinking someone could come out for a service call and walk me through it, but the guy just said “it’s super easy! Fill it, frog ball, alkaline, ph, chlorine. No sweat!” and that was it. I’m about 5 minutes away from closing it up and forgetting it exists, but I really want to be able to use it. I’m pretty sure I have what I need; the previous owners left most of the chemicals. I just don’t know how to actually operate the stupid thing.
