Ahoy, detectives!

It's almost here! The first official Murdoku worldwide contest, The Treasure Hunt, starts TODAY, October 9, at 6 PM ET!

You've probably seen the announcement video, so for this special event, I've created the biggest Murdoku puzzle yet, a 24×24 grid. And this time, well, there's no murderer to find, instead you'll have to figure out where the treasure is hidden!

• Download the PDF, solve the puzzle, and submit your answer directly on the contest page.
• Only one attempt per participant, so take your time to get it right.
• Five randomly chosen winners will receive a treasure chest filled with signed Murdoku books (including Volume 3) and goodies.

This is the official discussion thread, so feel free to share your thoughts, ask questions, or just let us know how you're doing!

A couple of things I'd ask, though:

-Please use spoiler tags if you're discussing your solving process, clues, or anything that could help others figure out the puzzle.

- Please don't share the final solution (the treasure chest coordinates) before the contest ends.
I'd prefer to let players solve it themselves.

What a fantastic puzzle! Took me a couple hours I think around 3? Would have been faster but I had to restart twice because very deep in because I missed a row a specific person could be in and incorrectly made a 2 pair duo which kept giving me no squares to place J lol. I won’t get into any specifics until the puzzle is over but there are three extremely cool chains that really lock everything in place. Goodluck to everyone else hope you find success it was really fun

is there a set schedule or is it whenever the creator has free time?

i absolutely love murdoku and ive solved the first book and my second book is on the way! in the meantime ive finished all 40 of the online puzzles and id love to know when more will come out

I was working on the Treasure Hunt today on my phone and I must have misclicked on my screen because I was working for like 6 hours or so with an error that I just saw now. 😭 Time to start over.

I'm just curious to see how much competition there will be 🥱

I am stuck on placing i and p together in either cabin a or b. I placed M in R10 possibly in 2 columns and that r1 or r3 c14 has the suspect near tombstone. Everyone i see placed i so easilyi am stuck

Hi, I’m stuck on this Murdoku by Manuel Garand (the treasure hunt one, 24x24, where you find the Treasure’s coordinates instead of a killer).
Where I’m stuck:
∙ I can’t figure out who goes next to the tombstone (F2, C14) so I can place C, who is 8 rows below. My candidates for F1,C14 and F3,C14 are Dudley, Seraphina and Griselda.
∙ I also can’t place E or B.

What was the very first Person you got fixed?

Column 10, Row 9, in the water. What is that? Is it a barrel? A rock? I can't really tell what that is. It looks like it might be a barrel, just mostly underwater.... I'm probably overthinking it. It's probably a barrel.

Sam the Snail is in the garden. Find out which plant Sammy will eat.

The first multiple puzzles in volume 1, I got through no problem. Once I hit puzzles 50+ I’ve been having problems - I feel like I’m missing something, like I don’t understand how to fully comprehend the clues? Does anyone have any advice on how to understand all of the clues?

I always get east and west confused!!!
