Went to collect eggs this morning and BOTH nesting boxes had drops of fresh blood in the nesting material. And both boxes had one egg each with blood smears. I'm assuming it's just one hen that was bleeding and maybe she alternated between boxes before deciding on one.

But I've checked all the hens over and can't find who was bleeding! Their wattles and combs all look fine. Vents are all clean with no blood or poop. Doesn't look like anyone is missing any new feathers...

I do have one bully hen who will pluck butt feathers from the others, but even so, I couldn't see anyone with an open wound.

Any ideas what else I should check or do? I'd hate to miss something and have the other chickens go cannibal on whoever is bleeding!
