Chickens?!?! Help!!!

So, I finally beat Yagluth - and it was not a complete disaster if you don't count the debacle of ice blobs. Having never tested them in action, I thought releasing them will distract Yag long enough for me to wail on him. Obviously, that's not what happened - he ignored them, and they only aggrod on me. So there i was, running like an idiot around the altar trying to dodge fiery bullshit from Yag with a whole cavalcade of ice blobs merrily hopping after me (because of course I didn't just throw one of them bottles, I threw all of the ones in my inventory, about 10 or 12).

Anyways, I digress. So I can finally purchase eggs. Bloody hell, they are expensive. I grit my teeth and buy 4. Plop them in my main hall by hearth. And go off running errands. Two problems - the doors to maintain hall were open (I thought how far the little shits can possibly wander off?) Another problem, it appears on my way to errands I also did not close the main gate to my base and two skeletons wondered in......

I come back, no chickens. Two skeletons. I kill the skeletons and wallow in self depreciation. But then I hear peep. And keep hearing it. I run around my base (which is not very big, I swear), and finally find the one remaining chicken. I can't seem to be able to herd it to safety and the thing keeps running off. It is still roaming my base popping by here and there. Peeping from somewhere. No idea how to capture it or how to even contain it. Low on funds to buy more eggs, but also obviously in a desperate need of a better strategy for chicken management.

Dearest vikings, please help this hapless idiot: how do I do proper chicken setup? Do I build them their own house? Or fenced in yard? Can I put then in one of the upstairs rooms (can they do stairs?)? Is there any way to catch the wayward chicken i have left roaming somewhere here?! With the cost of eggs I really cannot afford to do many trial and errors, I really need advice ☹️😞

Searching for equivalent of long discontinued perfume: Healing Garden

Not even sure if this is a right place to ask but I am out of ideas. In the early 2000's there was a scent: Healing Garden Perfect Calm. Has anyone used it or remembers it? Has anyone found anything similar over the years? Any advice is appreciated!!

Can somebody explain to me what the damn point is of fishing?! As far as I see it, the only end result is cooked fish which isn't that great of a food, and the waste of time to get to it simply isn't worth it. Am I missing something?

edit: didn't know about fish wraps, I'm only beginning to explore plains (and it is not going well), but this seems promising!!
