Ran Merc 3.0 with exhaust manifold hoses disconnected.
Like the title says, total beginner mistake, I ran my boat engine with the exhaust manifold hoses disconnected for about a minute. What alerted me to an issue was smoke. I guess my question is is it possible to do this without incurring damage or is my water pump impeller likely toast? If so, how serious is the repair and what else might have been impacted?
