Do We See a New Halo Announcement Tomorrow?

While it’s all but guaranteed we see the remake tomorrow, what are some of your hopes for a new announcement?

Personally I think we may see the announcement of the multiplayer project that’s been rumored before people get to try it out at Halo Fest. I would like to get a teaser for the next installment in the story but I feel like they’ll save that for December.

SLASO HALO CE Experience So Far

Last month after finishing my first playthrough of Zelda Ocarina of Time I decided to begin my yearly Halo Season (usually the summer months into fall)

This year I decided I’d finally try out LASO. For context, I consider myself an above average player, not perfect but I do pretty well in multiplayer and I can play legendary Halo 2 easily let alone the others.

LASO has always been something I avoided simply because I feared it would be too frustrating but said why not.

I’ve just finished 343 Guilty Spark and so far it’s not so bad. My goal was to beat it SLASO with the additional challenge of avoiding most skips especially on the harder levels.

So far:

-Pillar of Autumn was a bit of a learning curve as I got used to the rules, adjustment to aiming without aim assist and how to work with the limited weapon options.

-Halo was more difficult as the first section took me about 4-5 hours of play to get a good run, after that maybe an additional hour for the remainder as I killed marines and used the sniper as much as possible.

-Truth and Rec… most challenging experience I’ve had in any Halo since 2001 when I first picked up the controller. This nearly broke me, the beginning took some tries but by my last run I was able to complete it with full health and sniper.

Then there’s the belly, took me 2 weeks of grinding the first time to fight my way through, I knew this would be tough but was determined to fight my way out without using the belly skip, not just because of pride but to prove I was worthy to take on the likes of Halo 2 in the future. 3 weeks of grinding and I got through, only to accidentally die and restart the level because I took too long a pause to save and quit…it broke me. But from that I was reborn, on my last attempt it took 3 tries and I was through with plenty of AR, the next hanger was tough as well as the final one but by the end of the level I was shooting Quigley’s at multiple camo elites, I was at the top of my game.

The Silent Cartographer is a classic level and one I know very well, played it in a straightforward manner, used the little shortcut to get to the bottom and fought my way up, ended up having the most trouble with the Gold Elite, I managed to glitch him on the catwalk with the quick cutscene, force him to fall, etc but my favorite way to take him out was to lead him to my hog at the top of the ramp and splatter him, then jumping out and killing the camo elite that would spawn next to me.

Because I left all the grunts alive when entering they helped thin out the rest of the camos as I drove my hog out, grabbed an os and hopped on the pelican as the hunters watched

Assault on the Control Room contains my only skip so far in the form of the banshee skip, it was just too cool to pass up and I felt a little owed after T&R, took 2 days to master as I alternated between it and the bridge fall but ultimately it makes the level the easiest so far.

343 Guilty Spark was half atmosphere, half running, so far the flood seem much easier to tangle with than a squad of covenant with 2 elites and I followed Halo Completionists guide to the letter for the first time on this one just to make sure it was smooth as I learned.

Next is the Library which I expect to be tough, my hope is to finish LASO before Campaign Evolved comes out.

If you made it this far, here are some tips I learned.

  1. Always go for the grunts, their deaths do half the work.
  2. Jackals are good for your shields, even the majors flinch to melee so beat em till candy comes out when you’re in a pinch
  3. Elites are bitches, kill their grunts or smack em up and you should be okay
  4. Treat Hunters like a kind lady, give em a dance they’ll never forget
  5. Flood are easy to punch with a shotgun in hand
  6. Fuck Gold Elites, save the Camo in the belly until they all spawn, kill every grunt and jackal, then back smack the Gold Elites until they are no more.

TOO TOO LONG; DIDNT READ:

LASO has been a fun challenge, looking forward to more.

Do We See The Food Nipple?

With Campaign Evolved’s next reveal likely during XBOX’s presentation on the 7th, it’s time for me to finally ask the most important question.

Do we finally see the appearance of the Grunt Food Nipple in a Halo game?

It’s been teased in books for decades as we’ve seen the ins and outs of countless covenant vessels that would likely house this device.

Halo Studios, it’s time to stop denying die hard fan’s what we really want.

Halo Wars Might be The Most Toxic Online

I’m playing Halo Wars on and off in between my LASO sessions and it’s crazy how rude people are to players still learning the game.

For those of you that play the remaster (there’s like 30 people) What’s the deal? The games nearly dead just have fun.

Repair Shop Recommendations

My OG Xbox is in need of a capacitor replacement and soldering is the only type of repair I don’t actually do myself. I have a few local shops I know of that i have yet to use but does anyone have any recommendations for repair shops in the north east that I could send my Xbox to so I have some extra options.

Also open to someone here offering to do the repair work for a fair price.

Need some Advice

First time opening Xbox up, was expecting a leaking clock capacitor but at least so far it looks fine.

Xbox won’t power up, it will try to if I hold down the power button but that’s it. No tray opening, no light, no AV output. Just the sound of the fan and some internals powering up.

Xbox in a Coma

I’ve kept my Xbox in its carrying bag for a long time, have gotten into retro consoles and felt like booting it up.

Unfortunately when trying to turn it on it will only have a power cycle if I hold the power button. No video, no audio just the sound of the console turning on if I hold the button, disc tray will not work either if I press the two together.

I assume this is a classic clock capacitor leak but have yet to open it up. I can fix anything mechanical but I don’t know how to Solder. Is it better to send it for repairs or buy a working one?

Would anything be lost if I get one?

Has anyone experienced or heard of this issue?
