What do I do if driver stole my food
So I ordered and tipped $5 at nighttime from a place less than 8 mins away from my house. I told the driver to leave food at door and to not ring the doorbell in the messages and he said ok. He asked me for the code and I saw that his location was right outside my house so I assumed he just dropped the food off and I sent the code as i walked down the stairs to get it. Right after I went outside to notice the driver driving off with my food. I contacted the driver by calling and the driver didnt join the call. I contacted uber eats support and they stated that since I shared the code they can't do anything. Im like i have never requested a refund on all my previous orders and that the deleivery driver didnt send a picture of the order despite me selecting the leave at door option. I also said that the driver requested the code when he was outside so I just gave it to him I didn't know he was gonna be a dick and drive off and face 0 consequences just because of the code. Like does it not seem even slightly unfair that texting the code slightly early gives the driver the right to take the order with no repercussion. I'm guessing the response is just gonna be dont text code until you get the deleivery, customer support drilled that in my head enough times can anyone tell me if there's anything I can do right now or is it just a loss because it was a pretty big order of $45 and I'm not the most financially free person 🫤
