If y'all wandering why people don't tip anymore

No matter what "discount" they say they add the total is about 2x the meal cost... which is alresdy higher than what BK charges. The meal is two burgers, fries, and a coke. Worth apparently $72.70

I don't order delivery much but have been stuck at home sick for a few days and wanted a treat, thought a $25 subtotal seemed fair... gunna eat more ramen instead

Anyone else hoping the fees comedown somehow? Not sure how anyone is using this service at all these days

EDIT: reading comprehension seems to be a tough one these days. I said I didn't order and made ramen instead. I never said I don't tip drivers, just pointing out a possible link between climbing fees and falling tips.

Also the amount of "you're lazy!" comments are hilarious.

  1. I said I was sick and unable to leave my house
  2. A big cost for delivery would make sense if it went to the driver
  3. I said in the post that I decided to not order, what is so hard to understand?

My weakness is buy 1 , get one free 😂😂

Recovery day. 807 steps today. 0 regrets. Don’t ask questions. Buy 1, get 1 🆓 🍤 🦐 🍟 This was the main event.

It was a deal… I had to respect it also this is not all for me btw. 😂😂

robbed by uber eats.... and then she returns back to the scene of the crime? wtf

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1509DWu8iWEBO65PDZrVcjyPT5uGwEY3e/view?usp=sharing

Order sat for 2+ hours in Uber's system, hopping from driver...to driver... to driver. Probably 15 drivers total? Business was closed for well over an hour as drivers continued to drive there for the food.

Shouldn't something trigger to Uber after the first, I don't know... two drivers drive all the way to the business, and then cancel?

I saw no immediate way to cancel, so after an hour I ordered from another restaurant and figured this existing order would auto cancel at some point.

Worthy of note the food in the bag appeared to be half ate as it had some tenders and a few chicken wing scraps.... Pretty sure they grabbed a collection of scraps out of the garbage can at the fast food joint I ordered from.

Uber Eats offered a platinum match

So last week Uber Eats offered to match my Platinum status if I could show that I was on a higher tier with another delivery platform. So I submitted it and I realize I made a horrible mistake. I have never gotten more steaming pile of 💩 offers in my life. They also stated if after 100 deliveries I remained at Platinum they would give me an $800 bonus. I guess they figure somebody would sign up for this and accept all of the offers to get the bonus but I have never been offered as many consistently awful orders in my life. I am getting very few Platinum offers to begin with and all of them are three or $4 orders for like 9 MI. Uber is really hoping idiots will take all of these absolutely pathetic offers out of desperation. I should have stayed at Gold.

I’m not sure what rationale could be used to explain the $68.21 service fee here. UberEats is out of their damn mind 🤯

Ordered from a pizzeria I hate but with different name and I feel scammed

Gf told me to order us a pizza from restaurant X when I was going back from work.

I ordered it but when it came it turned out to be from pizzeria we hate but with different name (we checked on maps location).

Got really disappointed because we wanted to try a new pizzeria and got something we don't even want to eat lmao.

This is the second time UberEats has rejected to refund me for an incorrect order

This is the second TIME, I have received an entirely incorrect order. I quite literally had a whole different order this what I got. I went to the help section uploaded the picture and still was told I can’t get my refund. What’s wrong with Uber eats?

I just had my first experience with the drivers stealing my food; they kept adding new drivers, and the restaurant kept sending them back. It was crazy. I got three drivers and had to call Uber Eats, and they canceled my order. How often does this happen?

I typically am a power user of DoorDash, ordering three times a day every day for the year. Long story short, I decided to try UberEats. I got an UberEats pass and the first experience was just a really crazy one. They kept adding new drivers and it was very confusing until I contacted the driver and they said they wouldn't release the food because another driver had taken the food. They said all they can do is cancel. So it looks like there's a strategy for theft internally. I just want to know how often this has happened as I'm a full-stack developer and if this is something that's rapid, then I'd love to create a website so we can track this. People could report and eventually go into a class action lawsuit. I don't believe it's right for the consumer to pay that with their time and that's what I did. They shouldn't reward the theft and punish the customer.

How much do you guys tend to average per hour?

I usually average around £10-13, per hour.

Not bad! But not brilliant.

But I do tend to work in the evenings when there is a lot of people working.

Driver reported, how do I ensure I never get them again? Can I block them?

Submitted order for 2 dishes yesterday at 730pm. Restaurant 4 miles away. Tipped $7 on a $29 total. About 21 for food and rest was Uber Eats fees. So my total was $36

734 pm; message driver, please bring utensils thanks. Driver responds they are already at the restaurant and I should increase the tip because now they have to wait. I respond that I tipped 25% and ordered less than 5 minutes ago so they are preparing the food even if he got there fast. He tells me he had to pass on 18 low tippers for the day and he needs more to get gas to get to me.

Suffice it to say my order arrived and....no utensils. Like bro, if you really wanted any chance of an increased tip do the one thing requested? I didn't reduce the $7 tip, nor add to it, but I reported the driver. If they really skipped that many orders and took mine they will probably know where the complaint came from.

How do I ensure this driver is never assigned an order from me again? I dont trust people that act this way and dont want them handling my food.

Is there a way for me to block that driver ?

Driver stole my food, UE is no help.

I ordered Uber Eats for the first time in a while, after having a bad experience with DD as a driver just sat in the neighborhood near my house for an hour trying to get me to cancel. I thought I was escaping all of that by going to UE, and yet this happens. My first dasher stole my food before reassigning the order, and then subsequently 3 other dashers cancel. without communicating with me despite calling and texting all of them. I finally called the restaurant personally and the kind woman on the phone confirmed that I had my order stolen by the first dasher and they no longer have it.

I then reached out to Uber Eats support, who fist contacted me to an AI that I had to cuss out before it finally connected me to a real person. I was so mad all of my grammar and spelling was wrong lol😭

No compensation for the orders that been stolen/picked up by someone else? Really?

I had 4 orders like that in the last 5 days. I was accepting the order, drove to the store, entered, asked and been told that it was already picked up by someone else.

Support said that they don't have any kind of compensation for these situations.

Really? Spent my time and gas, potsntially lost other orders and not even a $1 for my time?

Customer reported me for "professionalism" because I followed their instructions too literally.

Gave me a negative rating, removed tip and reported me over a small joke..

“Someone else already picked up the package”

Just got a $37 delivery, only to be told once I got to the restaurant that someone had already picked it up. This happens too often. Next time im debating hitting confirm pickup anyway and driving to the house and just hitting delivered. I get played too often

Uber grocery promotions that cost me an extra $20.

Very frustrated. I had a 30% off $80 grocery. My shopper refunded an item that cost $10 that made my order go below $80 and my subtotal went from $63 something to $83.

I only used the grocery as I was sick otherwise I always go to the store.

I spoke to 5 agents, I don’t know if they were real people or bots they said nothing can be done. They don’t have a customer service number ai can use either.

I lost $20. That is a lot of money for me as I’m on a budget.

Can anyone advice how to deal with this.

Driver said order was cancelled but showing as delivered my end.

Hey everyone. I ordered tonight and then seem to have lost signal (I’m staying at a hotel) meaning I missed a couple of messages/calls from the delivery driver. I went outside because it seemed to be taking longer than expected which is when I saw the messages.

It appears they had come to my hotel, tried to contact me and then went away again (fair enough obviously) but they hadn’t cancelled the order so I could still see their location. I managed to call them and they said they would come back shortly. Next thing I noticed the order had been marked delivered (before they had got to my location). I waited 5 minutes then they arrived with my order.

I was of course grateful for them going out of their way over my mistake but after giving me my food he said he just wanted to check something and pulled up an orange screen on his phone in another language and told me it meant the order had been cancelled. He initially thought I had cancelled the order but I showed him my screen and he said it must’ve been Uber eats that cancelled the order because it had taken too long. Basically my question is do you think he was telling the truth? I’m only suspicious because I’ve had issues in the past where drivers have taken a very long time and nothing like that has happened before. Also the order still isn’t showing as cancelled on my end.

TLDR- do uber eats cancel orders if the driver takes too long.
