What happens to (enemy units) when sieges complete?
Early game (very hard diff) I had a Brutii fort on a river Danube crossing. The fortress got taken by overwhelming forces but I did some good damage on the stacks of the Dacians. I proceeded to lay siege to my own fortress with a mad general, 4 hastati, mercanary Illyrians and a triari unit (mission reward).
Dacians had a general and 8 very weakened unit stacks, I was full health. To my surprise there was no sally and after the turn limit expired I just won the siege for the fortress.
What happened to the enemy general and units? Where they released or killed upon surrender? I just found my units in the fortress in the next turn, with no extra info.

On a sidebar, the mad general was a blast. I had him charge headlong into battle to get rid of him early, but with tactical moves so he might win. He won multiple fights against 2 / 3 stack rebel trash. Then proceede to win this siege. Secured 2 wins on another river crossing against superior Dacian numbers before finally falling to overwhelming forces, but his units (except for the triari) all made it back to be retrained. He never married before dying so no lunacy in the bloodline. But he sure gave those Dacian's who 'had the moon people on their side' a good thrashing going out.
