[US] Driving gig to confirm GPS routes

I was browsing Craigslist for part time work and gigs, and I found the following post:

Premise Data is looking for car drivers with iPhones to confirm routes for a major GPS company.
- No passenger/No delivery
- USD 3.00 per mile driven (you can drive hundreds of miles per week!)
- We provide training, the app, and instruments for work.
To join our team, you'll need to pass a background check and provide a valid address to receive a dashboard phone mount both are essential for this role.
If you are interested, please feel free to reach out now at [Premise email address] - we have just a few openings!

I searched the email on LinkedIn and found the profile of a person whose name matched, and it says she’s worked for Premise for years. I emailed her and got a reply during business hours. I replied with questions which she answered to my satisfaction, then she sent me a link for a background check through First Advantage.

Everything seems legit but the gig itself sounds too good to be true! I was burned by a task scam several years ago so now I’m trying to be smarter. I Googled it but am not finding any other gigs like this. What do you think?
