We are looking to move to Vienna with a 13 yr old who is generally very positive about the idea. We have not been able to get into an international school at this point so we are considering that putting her into an Austrian public school with intensive German for integration is a possibility - she could learn German faster which will help her integrate in ways that starting at international school will not. Our goal is this is for a year integrating and getting some language - not as a permanent solution, as we plan to have her enter international school eventually.

She is positive about the idea but we can not find many reviews from people who have done it. We are from the US and she speaks English but no German at the moment. Does anyone have any information or experience with so-called Deutschförderklassen? Postive experiences are especially appreciated but of course interested to know if it is a disaster.... Thanks!
