Is there a “fixed core” of voters in Australia whose views don’t really change?

For example, with One Nation polling around ~25–30%, and a similar group of Australians (~15–25% depending on the poll) thinking favourably about Trump, do people think there’s a “fixed core” of voters whose views don’t really change with events?

For example - even with things like ongoing conflicts (e.g. Trump's Iran war and fuel inflation), economic concerns (cost of living vs taxes favouring billionaires), controversial domestic issues (ice killings), or moral failings (cheating in business, Epstein files), etc. - there still seems to be a segment of people who don’t shift in their views, and say - yep I want this in Australia as well!

Is that a real “hard core” (~10–15%?) that won’t really change regardless, or is most of this phon support still fluid/protest-driven and could swing back under the right conditions?

Question to people who don't want to tax those "poor gas companies": have you seen ABC's expose about Shell and how they cheat Austrlians? And how do you feel about taxing them now?

"Ultimately, Mr Killaly says the industry’s protests that it is paying significant tax is beside the point.

He says the key question is whether gas exporters are paying the correct amount of tax.

“The fact that a tax payment appears quite stunning in terms of being quite large doesn’t, by virtue of that fact, make it the right amount of tax,” he says.

“Because if your proper profit is a multiple of your tax payments, several multiples of your tax payments, then it may well be that you have to be paying a lot more tax.”"
