Trying to understand realistic total compensation for Senior Software Engineer roles in Helsinki
Hey all,
I moved to Finland and am working remotely for an international tech company as a consultant through a toiminimi setup.
I’m currently trying to understand better what realistic total compensation packages look like in the Helsinki tech market for a Senior Software Engineer.
I’ve noticed that comparing only base salary feels a bit misleading in Finland because there are many things wrapped into employment packages here, such as pension contributions, private healthcare, job security (for example, notice periods), vacation days, equity/options, and similar benefits.
What would you consider a realistic total compensation package for these kinds of roles in the Helsinki area?
Also, are there any websites or resources you’d recommend for checking salary/total compensation benchmarks?
