Found this in a dumpster.. Works great!
I was doing my weekly drive around at an apartment complex near me went outside of the dumpster sat two Oreck vacuums. I took them home plugged them in and the first one.. The motor was definitely burnt. So RIP to that one, it went to dad’s shop and got taken apart for parts to use for the many other Oreck vacuums he has.
Upon inspection, all this one needed was a belt ordered one on Amazon. It was a very, very small belt, but now this thing vacuums the hell out of a rug…. And anything else really. 😅
What do you guys think about my find? Any tips or advice? This is my first Oreck. My dad is an avid lover of these machines and helped me fix it but I only picked it up because of him loving it so much now I understand!
Post Note: I just barely looked these up today and saw that they still go for around $95 - about $150 online as I was looking for bags. Luckily this one came with a new bag unused, but again I am new to these and I have no idea about them and as I am learning more, I’m realizing that these are very very expensive machines so I’m thinking that my find was pretty miraculous
