[TOMT] [Carnival / Thrill Ride] please help me find the bike-shaped contraption that traumatized me
hi! kinda sad childhood trauma story in the spoiler tag >!when i was about 9, my lower-middle class family took our single government alloted road trip vacation to Florida, and my foster parent forced me to ride this ride with another family member, aged about 5-6? despite my desperate pleas not to. I think this event taught me I had no bodily autonomy and was just property as a child and also probably screwed with my nervous system forever! i assume it's also why i don't like roller coasters, and fuck that, i want to like roller coasters! just very much want to lay eyes on this ride one more time and give it a great big middle finger so I can move on, or at least be validated that it existed at all LMAO!<
this ride only seated two total, but it was individual straddled seats that I'm fairly certain were motorbike-ish in shape with shoulder harnesses. they went in loops opposite to each other, like a loop-o-plane or the big pirate ship or some other pendulum ride, but it was on an individual scale. the seats weren't the big cages or the big ship, but exposed, open air, for a single person, literally like bikes. all i remember is it being a lot of super fast inversions for what felt like a super long time. it rides as if you are riding a motorcycle straight forward on a hamster wheel/circular track. >!if I'm not just making shit up - which is entirely possible, I am also an artist and therefore known to do so - I rly don't think 5 and 9 year olds should have been riding something like this LMAO!<
could have been purple and black, space bikes themed? but that could be a false memory. it was the mid 2000s (05-08ish, very fuzzy here, apologies) somewhere on a Florida boardwalk. i know we went to Orlando, St. Augustine, Jacksonville, Daytona Beach... I don't think this was at Disney but it could have been because we also went there lmao
wikipedia and the rollercoaster database were of no help, so i turn to the infinite wisdom of reddit. thank you in advance for the assistance, it's infinitely cheaper and probably more effective than therapy atp 😵💫
