Tire tread issues for 2022 Honda Civic Touring
Purchased new in 2021, tire treads wearing at a fast rate, with wear patterns that seem to baffle maintenance techs whether at a certified dealership or a third-party repair shop.
Purchased brand new tires about 2 months ago, and on the /12 point scale for tread, front tires are already at a 4/12 and rear are at an 8/12, and this is with a 6 mile, in-town commute to the workplace, with a driving style akin to a defensive driver that trends toward slower than the limit driving.
This has been an ongoing issue since purchase of vehicle, but has not been connected to any explanation of what may need repair/replacement - only suggestion of further diagnostics that bounce between suspension, driving style, tire inflation, that in subsequent diagnostics are rotated between but never corroborated.
I do remember receiving a notice in the mail about a recall involving an improperly assembled steering assembly that ‘could’ cause unexpected tire wear. After foolishly misplacing this letter, the honda dealership promptly dismissed the possibility that this notice applied to my vehicle. All in all, a frustrating experience having to buy new shoes every few months while the rest of the vehicle seems in excellent condition for its mileage, never failing to breeze through inspection.
