I bought the Bleed Zone bleed kit for my Shimano MT200 brakes and despite not threading the bleed cup in too tight, the bike shifted against the wall and the cup broke off, leaving half of the plastic threads stuck in the bleed port. When trying to pry it out, I pushed it deeper into the hydraulic fluid and the plastic can no longer be seen.

At this point, I’m assuming I just need to buy a new brake lever? There’s essentially no way of getting the plastic out now and I imagine the Hydraulic line won’t function properly with a little piece of plastic hanging out at the port.

Lessons learned:

1. Buy a bike stand
2. Buy Shimano branded bleed kits and not Amazon crap.
