Rise Before Ramux made catch-up worse for new players
I participated in Rise Before Ramux and got the rewards, but I still think its implementation was terrible for new players.
T&L keeps talking about better catch-up, yet this did the opposite.
Before, a new player had to catch up with veterans who had months of progression.
Now:
New player → catch up with veterans + players who started just a 3 weeks earlier
That's the absurd part. The difference in when these players started can be just a few weeks, while the difference in progression boost is enormous.
And the core problem is simple:
Catch-up should be based on PLAYER STATUS, not CALENDAR DATE.
Someone starting today is further behind and needs catch-up more than many of us who received the event rewards. Yet they get less help simply because they started a few weeks too late.
That's completely backwards.
Rise Before Ramux should have been an onboarding system available to new players for a limited time after they start, not a one-time progression window.
If T&L wants new players, they need to believe:
"If I start today and put in the effort, I can eventually compete."
Not:
"You should have started last month."
That's not catch-up. That's another barrier to entry.
And sure, you can enjoy the advantage we got from the event, but eventually you'll have all that gear and fewer and fewer people left on the map to use it against.
