Game Pass Ultimate expired and now games missing.
TL:DR Game Pass expired. Owned game disappeared, EA Play tied to Game Pass. SimCity 4 Deluxe, i own it, said license invalid. Would not uninstall. Said I needed admin but I am admin. Had to use power shell to force.
Long detailed version:
I purchased C&C The Ultimate Collection and their app shows I own it if I search. It is installed. Does not show on the library in the app at all. And nothing I do seems to fix it. I have signed out and signed back in. Closed the app and killed all processes. Reinstalled the app. It finds the SimCity 4 install that is in the same exact folder. But the C&C game no luck.
The purchase of the game on my account is old and from launch. Says description not available for some reason. And this is the first game I got on this app. I am fairly sure it was a code that I entered though. Instead of a straight purchase and was through the Origin app all that time ago, 2012-10-12 it shows.
SimCity 4 should be the deluxe. I have the game on disc but I contacted EA some years back, Origin app was what they had at that time as well, about it. I had read that others had gotten CS to give them a digital copy if they had the key and all that. Sure enough. Been installed since.
Game Pass Ultimate expired so EA Play is gone. i just got tired of paying since I own so much I need to play anyway. The game now will not work. Says game license is invalid. But in the store it says game is in my library.
When I click to manage and then uninstall SimCity 4 DE it quickly flashes uninstalling on the blue button. Then it goes right back to play. So not only can i not play it the uninstall option did not work.
With C&C The Ultimate Collection I was able to just trash the folder from my drive. Though the game still does not appear in my library. In the store it still says "in library" because I own it.
SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition however, I could not delete. I am the admin and the only user on this PC. I click to uninstall and it says that I need permission. I click continue with the admin icon thing. Nope, just says I require permission and try again. I have full admin permission on the file. Still would not uninstall. The only option was through the power shell (could have used command prompt).
Not sure why the permissions were like that. But I feel like it was something to do with Game Pass and EA Play being together. Nothing I have done has fixed it.
