I just got in a Brother Deluxe 660TR and everything but the carriage seems to be working just fine. The machine is clean, keys don't stick, but it almost feels like molasses is stuck in the gears for the carriage. I've really got to push to return it, and the advancement after typing is a bit slow sometimes. I didn't get a manual with this typewriter, am I overlooking a setting somewhere? Or is this something in the guts I need to fix?
