Anyone else notice default pop growth settings behaving very oddly?
So I was running a shattered ring origin free traders/worker coop megacorp and decided to go genetics ascension to spice things up a bit and get more pop growth that I pretty badly needed (endless basic resources piling up with very limited ability to put them to use even with meat ships). Imagine to my surprise that even after taking a cloning authority for +1 organic pop assembly and the first purity authority for tons of extra organic pop efficiency that my pop growth seemed to remain entirely stagnant at about 2.8, I had 2.5 pop assembly on those ring segments from cloning vats and genomic research facilities.
As a result I decided to do a little experiment, I opened up the console, turned on instant build and modded my species with every single pop growth growth and assembly trait I could find on the wiki or remember off the top of my head, generated enough alloys to instantly upgrade and fill out the last section of the ring, did so and then generated 7k pops on it (with more than 15k unfilled jobs, 30K unused housing and 29k carrying capacity) and discovered that the pop growth remained exactly the same. Seeing that I then went and colonized a planet to set it up as a resort world. Fully loading it up and seeing that same ~2.8 monthly pop growth again. Removed the cloning vat from another segment, saw the same pop growth numbers afterwards. I think growth required scaling is throttling pop growth way harder than is remotely reasonable at default settings because its resulting in their being effectively no difference in growth between imperium vitalis with its pop growth penalty and nothing boosting its pop growth and a genetics ascension going very hard on stacking pop growth.
