I just started playing through SOTN again on ps1 (it's been about 8-10 years since last beat it) and I'm really surprised how easy it is. Idk if it's just muscle memory or what but I legit haven't died to a single boss and I'm almost all the way through the first castle. Just recently got shield rod but before that I was just playing with a rapier, knight shield, ice mail, and elven cloak and not struggling at all. Have wolf, upgraded bat, upgraded mist, double jump, like 3 spells I barely ever use... Faerie, demon, and ghost familiars. Have a little bit left to do before flipping the castle but nothing has been a threat yet, not remotely. Anyone else have this experience with the game? I remember the first time I played it being tougher?
