Beware "AEP Representatives"

I've lived in this city for 7 days and I've already had 4 different people show up to my door claiming to be AEP representatives and demanding to see my latest bill. They always refuse to elaborate why, and give some lame excuses like getting me money back on my next bill or something. If this sounds familiar, and you played along, check your account or call your provider. They probably signed you up for a different provider without you realizing it. I'm assuming they get commission fees for this.

This is just a PSA / friendly reminder that anyone asking to see your electric bill is a dirty scammer. AEP already has access to your bills and no one demanding it would actually be from AEP. Stay safe.

If you're one of these people... Well, just stop. It's only a matter of time until someone records you or takes a photo/video of you / your license plate and reports you to the police. What youre doing violates multiple state and federal laws and you'll end up losing whatever pocket change you stole.
