I have a ten month old Pittweiler that we recently discovered is terrified of kids. He doesn’t bark, growl or get hostile - he cowers and then runs away from them, and will visibly shake, but also express some curiosity if he’s feeling trapped.

We have him alongside his full blood, Rottweiler mother, who adores kids and can’t have enough of them. I’m not sure where this behavior is coming with her son, but we’re looking for advice on how we can resolve it and get him to at least tolerate the presence of kids.
