I recently bought a 2016 Lincoln MKC. It has the 2.0L EcoBoost engine, 6 speed automatic transmission. It has 97,000 miles, was always serviced at Lincoln dealerships and taken care of well by 2 previous owners.
When I test drove it, I didn't notice anything wrong, but after a week of driving everywhere with it I've noticed that it shifts hard sometimes. Mostly with second gear, I believe. It isn't the worst, it's just noticeable, unlike my previous cars. It will get up to 2.5-3k RPM and then it'll drop. Like I said, it isn't super harsh, it just kinda hesitates and it's noticeable when driving. It's not like I floor it either, I drive pretty gently and don't accelerate too fast. Gear shifts at higher speeds are no problem whatsoever as well.
I'm a 20 year old female with very limited knowledge about cars and I just want to know if this seems normal, or if it seems like a minor or a big issue. I love this car so much, but I couldn't afford to replace the transmission if it ever got to that point. If it seems fixable then I'd like to have it looked at sooner than later. But I have no idea what I'm doing or what I'm getting myself into. Sorry if this seems like a dumb question or common sense.
