Nurse-led discharges?

One specific T&O ward at my hospital has a nurse-led discharge system. Sure! Great! So why do I then need to come and sign the discharge letter?

Very happy to be taught a lesson by anyone here on this but if it's nurse-led, why I am putting my name to the discharge? On my surgical on-calls, I get bleeped back-to-back about coming to write TTOs for patients I've never interacted with. I can name some bones. I brought it up with NIC there and he told me it's nurse-led and still gave me a form to sign. Huh??

The quality of the bleep conversation

Was the on-call gen surg FY1 over the weekend. There's one specific ward that bleeps me and when I call back they just reply with 'Hello?'. Multiple times. Back-to-back.

No name

No where they're calling from

No details

And when I introduce myself first then suddenly they realise why they've bleeped. And it's often because they couldn't figure out the bleep for a different FY1 on call. I'm getting used like switchboard.
