Can we not have nice things? Are we basically abandoned?

I've been here for awhile and I've been hoping that it would evolve into a real community, but it seems like we've just been shoved in the corner and told to entertain ourselves - and I gotta say it doesn't really feel nice. I brought this stuff up in a comment two-ish months ago on a post from a mod asking for feedback but never got a response, and I wanted to test the waters with a post - especially since the mod order has changed since then. Weigh in and let me know what you think.

Why don't we have any flairs?

  • At some point user flairs were created but they seem to only be available to moderators. Why can't we (the users) have user flair - even just for age ranges, countries or pro-nouns?
  • There's no post flairs, and that means that everything is just everywhere. It would be a lot easier to find content I want to engage with if I could see at a glance what the topic consists of, or if I could sort the feed by post flair.

Should there be mega threads or weekly themed posts?

  • A lot of things are repeated or frequently posted, and a mega thread(s) could be a good place for people to find that information or engage in those conversations without having to search through the main feed and spread the conversation over like 15 threads.
  • A weekly/bi-weekly/monthly thread could also help alleviate those issues, giving people a regular place to congregate to seek friends/partners, dating profile advice, makeup/clothing recommendations, vacation destinations etc.

Can we have some better pinned posts?

  • The pin clarifying Rule 1 of the subreddit is good, but the rest of them seem to be needless and could be better utilized or removed completely.
    • The Discord doesn't have events and could barely be considered active (4 messages a day in the general chat, on average), so I'm not sure why it's being advertised. It was also merged from another server and not exclusively members from this subreddit - and that wasn't disclosed to me anywhere before joining nor is it posted anywhere in the server. I found out from a rather young seeming user from the merged server while they were trying to flirt with me 😐
    • I don't understand why there's a pin for someone's personal TikTok account (previous head mod, current moderator) asking for more followers to allow them to go live, claiming to be about the subreddit but is exclusively posts of a Soundcloud account (both seem dead, so even less useful). If there's a rule against advertising I don't see why this exists let alone is pinned. It feels weird because it has nothing to do with the subreddit or the community generally.

The Removal, Reformatting or Actual Enforcement of Rule 7 - No Personal Ads

  • Saying that this isn't a dating subreddit or a place for personal ads is great, but then they're all over the feed all the time; and this has been going on for awhile. For instance: this post from 3 months ago that seems innocent enough, but once you look at the OPs comments its clear that this is a NSFW 'dating' post. It was reported and somehow, it's still up as of this posting. There are countless other examples before and since then.
  • Then there's multiple 'seeking friends' posts, which could also be considered innocent but are they also not personal ads, and isn't that a slippery slope to dating posts I previously mentioned? If this content is against the rule why is it allowed to remain on the subreddit?

Better/More use of AutoMod/Post Guidelines

  • Automod/Post Guidelines could be utilized to flair or comment on posts from newer accounts, or flag posts for review before they go live if they contain certain words in the post title or body - this would cut down on the amount of interaction catfish, bots and trolls get before something is actually removed. We could also limit certain flairs to users with more community karma.

There's a lot of features we don't seem to be using and the subreddit could be a lot better if we did. Where do you stand on all of this?
