3 hour peak vs running 10s
Hello everyone. I’m a barista, been with the company for a few years. My store has recently in the last few months actually been running on the 3 hour peak rule, which has been kind of a problem lately. Our peaks are kind of unstable. Sometimes they’re 6:15-9:15, sometimes they’re 7-10, and obviously the weekends are different.
My CL has been very adamant on making sure 10s aren’t ran during peak, even when we have MORE than enough people on the floor to accommodate it. It would be fine, however when we have someone coming in at 5, it seems REALLY unfair to me that they don’t get their break until 9:30. Our CL also loves to pick and choose what rules to follow. It really rubs me the wrong way that they choose this one to follow when our drive times wouldn’t even suffer if one person went on a break with 9 people on the floor.
Does anyone have any advice? Is there something that can be done about this by me just as a barista?
