I have a theory that the scam texts I’m receiving are based on some kind of cell tower coverage or network detection, parang how WiFi detects nearby devices. Dito naman sa Pinas, parang nadedetect nila kung anong active SIMs yung connected or within range ng network.
Because I have a SIM from Singapore, I was surprised na nakareceive rin ako ng scam text about “LTO violations,” saying na nagda drive daw while using a phone, and may kasama itong link. Nagulat ako kasi bakit pati itong SIM na ’to nakakatanggap din? I don’t even use that SIM here in the Philippines. Hindi ko siya naregister anywhere or anything, hindi ko lang siya na remove sa phone ko, tapos nakakareceive pa rin ako ng scam texts.
Well, it’s just a theory, maybe I’m wrong tho.
