Random flare up of 'DeQuer.' or 'Intersection' caused from a thumb spica splint that should treat those? Anyone Experience anything similar?
Over the past decade i've been diagnosed with 'de quervains' and 'intersection syndrome'. (Hard to tell which it is because i failed tests making you think it is one, while passing other tests making you think it is the other - multiple orthos over the years and I've heard both/contradictory) Either way, it's been good for quite a while, though I have other wrist issues, But b/c I was having Occasional aches in my thumb 'MP' Joint, I decided to wear The Thumbs Spica splint For a week+. ( most of the awake hours but also when I slept). I then noticed a decently bad ache that Was <2in. Up my forearm from my wrist. I thought it was more 'intersection', ButIn the past I've also been told It is 'DQ'. Either it was very Coincidental timing, Or could the brace Have caused it? Possibly keeping my thumb A little Extended instead of more folded in like it likes to be? Or maybe from awake hours subconsciously fighting The resistance it has which is there to keep your thumb still? Any thoughts, similar situations or suggestions? Thanks
