Any guitarists have shoulder replacement?

I play the guitar semi-professionally. Osteoarthritis in my right shoulder (right-handed player so this is my pick hand) has gotten exponentially worse since the beginning of the year, after decades of just being occasionally annoying. (It may be a coincidence but it went dramatically downhill after a cortisone shot in January wore off in March. First time I've had one.) The latest evaluation showed that the cartilage is gone, and the doctor said I'm a candidate for a replacement. He said when I want to do it, he'll do a more detailed evaluation including MRI to determine if it will be anatomical or reverse.

What does recovery look like? I need to figure out how long I be unable to perform. The doctor and PA have given some scenarios but I want to hear from actual guitarists who have been through it.

Tried Resharp today. Disappointed.

I had several knives sharpened at an Ace Hardware store today. They have what I suppose is a franchised service called Resharp that uses a machine to automatically sharpen knives. It's a fully automated machine that they train store employees to run. It claims to automatically adjust the angle, etc. I watched one being sharpened and it was two wheels that rotate down onto the edge. There seemed to be two pairs of wheels, I suppose one coarser and one finer. I can't see how it can vary the angle like that.

The results were just mediocre, not as good as when I have them sharpened by hand by a professional. And I'm worried they did not sharpen my Shun knives at the correct angle. I tried my Sabatier 9" chef's knife to cut a carrot and it was not noticeably sharper. When I had it done by hand it was razor sharp. Just to my eyeball it looks like the angle is too big and it removed too much material.

I can't recommend it. I wish I had just taken a single knife as a trial.

Box of AC adapters to give away

Is there any organization out there that collects AC adapters for reuse/repurposing? I have about 50 of them. I could trash them but they all work and I figure that there must be one person out there looking for a Texas Instruments adapter for a TI-83 or maybe a Vtech phone adapter. I have a catalog of them with make, model, output voltage (two are AC, the rest are DC), amp delivery, positive/negative center pin (there are a couple with mini-phone plugs and mini-USB plugs).
