Help with a Bay Window

I’m not a woodworker quite yet. I used to do it with my grandad over the summer. This year I really want to get back into doing things with my hands and that started off with house projects. The board I have will be going to the bottoms of the windows. I got it at Menards. It is edge glued acacia. The issue I have with it is that the second picture is where I need another piece. I can only get the boards at 8’ long and the spot I need is 8’8” could I just put two together with wood glue and some wood filler? I’m trying to avoid an obvious seam as it is right under a west facing window where we get a lot of light. Any tips or suggestions?

I have considered pocket holes and wondered if that would work. I also don't know where I should put the seam

Dirt Floor

I have a detached 2 car garage. Its awesome. Just needs new lights and it is a perfect shop space. But the floor is dirt and has these large plastic tiles on it? I'm not sure what they are. But either way I want something that will be the home to my woodworking shop. The floor needs to be decently level. I was thinking that maybe I could just get bags of quick-crete but figured it might be cheaper to just have someone come pour cement? Any other ideas that you guys have? Just let me know!! Thank you
