I just bought this orchid from Hauserman and it looked to be in good condition. However, I cannot get this white crude off the leaves. I'm assuming it's hard water build-up from the nursery. Or is it???? Any advice?

I have tried lemon juice and water. I have also tried alcohol.

I purchased these discounted orchids at Walmart today. The $4 Orchid was perfectly healthy so I'm not sure why I was marked down. In fact all of the mini orchids are $4 compared to $6. The $5 Orchid with the speckles had a lot of dead roots but I think it's going to be okay.
