Propagating dancing lady orchid

Hi! I have never propagated an orchid like this and I had it in water propagation but it doesn’t seem to be making a difference in growth. I took it out and have it in charcoal but I’m scared that will just dry it out and I can’t come back from that? Can someone please help!! **the last picture is how I have her right now

My Vanda auto-water station

It’s a large high output ultrasonic humidifier but I found a good second use for it. Hang a vanda in the mist for 10-15 minutes per side 😁

Help finding this orchid (or one similar to it)!

Hi there! This is a photo of one of my orchids in bloom from almost 15 years ago. It was gifted to me by a grower and over the years, did very well. Sadly, it became sick and recently died. It never had a tag and so I don’t know its name. I’ve tried doing a cursory search to find what it could be (or something close to it) but have had little luck. Any ideas on what it might be? Or better and more realistic (since identifying plants is next to impossible like this), any suggestions of similar looking orchids? I just want to replace this with something similar, since the original plant held sentimental value. Many thanks for any help you can provide!

Is it time for a bigger pot??

The roots on my favorite orchid have been going kinda crazy. I’m planning on repotting it once it’s done blooming, are the roots wanting more room? How much should I size up?

First orchid help!

I got this beauty for my birthday a week ago and have no idea how to care for it. Or what kind it is. I’ve never had an orchid before. Is this spot ok? It gets afternoon sunlight and the bottoms of my hanging plants have grow lights attached to it. Any help or advice is needed.

Thank you!

Native to my area

I am not a big orchid person, but I do very much appreciate the dead, sick, and dying ones I can save from Lowe’s. However, these are my absolute favorites. This is the Epidendrum magnoliae, the green-fly orchid; it grows in the crooks and on the limbs of my absolute favorite plant, the Magnolia grandiflora (Southern Magnolia), in addition to Quercus virginiana (Live Oak).

She grows as far south as my home town in central Florida, up to about the fall line in Georgia (where we’ve lived for years); to that, she is an amazing species and learning to care for them has been extremely rewarding and gratifying.

Something in between

This is a mature plant. It isn’t a baby.
She’s bigger than my mayonnaise. Her leaves are bigger than my minions. She’s in a three or 4 inch clear pot and she’s got marvelous big fat green roots but the question is this is there an orchid she’s obviously a.Phal, that is somewhere between a mature orchid, like the one hanging over her. You think you could just see a little bit of the bloom hanging over her that’s a big orchid that’s hanging over her. Is there something between a true mini and this lady that’s in orange pot at the biggest my minis are in 2 inch pots and they bloom at that size but not like this so anybody know the answer is there a middle species, metal growth growth pattern to my big monsters and my little tiny elves and this beautiful plant is she just a large mini?

Blooming time for Cattleya? Is it only 3 weeks?

For how long is your Cattleya blooming? Is it only 2-3 weeks, or more for the hybrids? How about Cattlianthe, Rlc and Vlc?

Pic for tax, not mine!

A Sun-kissed Erycina pusilla ☀️

I've had this wonderful miniature in my collection for some time now and have even posted about it a few times. She is finally ready for that macro treatment that I give all my overacheiving and beautiful orchids!

I absolutely love this one! Very easy to care for, unique fan palm-like foliage that has an orange tint when receiving enough light and constantly flowering year round! I recall being jealous of u/Llumina_Starweaver 's for having so many spikes in the past. Completely unnecessary on my part 😅 I just needed to give mine patience and persistent conditions it favors...6 spikes is wild 🤯!

I find myself the babysitter of 8 dying phals my boss hasbought over the past 2 years—help me save them? Or should I let them go?

Pictured: 6 of 8 orchids. The remaining two are also phals, still in their original container/potting medium. They're somehow the healthiest, with a new bright green leaf each.

Background: My boss buys orchids from Trader Joes for event centerpieces. I've asked her to pick something else, because she doesn't know how to care for orchids, nor does she want to learn. I have one phal at home still thriving after four years, and I hate to see beautiful phals go to waste, so I offered to take care of these. I'm obviously not doing amazing—leaves are browning and going limp, only one has grown a new spike in two years, and none have reflowered.

Current care: the ones I've repotted have been placed in Duspro Premium Orchid Potting Mix. They get misted liberally with water at least three times a week, plus spritzed with Miracle Gro plant food mist for orchids once a week (though sometimes I forget). The plants sit indoors with no sunlight as there are no outside windows anywhere near me with enough room on the sill for eight orchids.

Truthfully, I'm wondering if it's even worth it. I cannot devote a lot of time and money, even on the company dime, to get these guys looking good. My position is quite busy, especially this time of year, and it's clear that my boss is just going to keep buying orchids that she leaves to die after the event. She constantly makes snide comments about how horrible the orchids look. (For this and numerous other bigger issues, I am job searching; I recognize that I have a boss issue in addition to a plant issue.)

So, thoughts? TIA!

Update: I have been depriving them of water! They've been soaked now and I put a grow light and a proper container to soak them in on the company card. Thanks, all!
