year abroad advice from a UK university
My university is partners with Fudan university, and I am very interested in studying there for my year abroad for the 2027/28 academic year. After talking to the international placements team, I now understand that the grades I receive for my exams in Fudan uni will not count at all towards my degree. Knowing this, there isn't much incentive for me to be working hundreds of hours to receive top grades... I'd much rather be self-studying mandarin (as I've been doing for months now) and going out and about talking to people for more immersion.
My question is the following: does the university (or chinese universities in general) have a minimum grade requirement to at least validate my year abroad? And secondly, do they take attendance in lectures/classes (or can I just skip everything and travel for an entire year???)?.
Can't find any info online, I appreciate any info!!
