Just finished Animal Farm as my first novel—highly recommend it!
I recently finished Animal Farm by George Orwell, and I'm really glad I picked it as my first novel.
At first, I expected it to be a simple story about animals on a farm, but it turned out to be a powerful political satire about power, corruption, propaganda, and how ideals can slowly be twisted by those in control. Despite being a short book, it leaves you with a lot to think about.
What impressed me most was how Orwell uses animals to reflect human society. The story is easy to follow, but the deeper meanings become clearer the more you think about it. It's one of those books that feels even more impactful after you've finished reading.
If you're looking to start reading classics or want a book that's thought-provoking without being too long, I'd definitely recommend Animal Farm. It took me only a few days to finish, and it has made me excited to read more.
No spoilers from me! If you've read it, what were your thoughts? And if you haven't, I'd say give it a try—you might be surprised by how relevant it still feels today.
