Good size breeding operation

I’m in the process of purchasing about 300 nice quality guppies to start a decent size breeding operation, I would like to produce 1-3000 guppies a month. My LFS said they would buy them every week and they also wholesale to all the other local fish stores in my area, they’re telling me they would give me $5-10 per guppy if they’re nice which is pretty appealing to me especially if I can move thousands of them.

I’m posting this because I want to see what the best approach is to setting up my tanks.

I live in a condominium on the 10th floor with all utilities included so I don’t pay for water or electricity which is another selling point for me because obviously that’s an expense for most people. But the only bottleneck is I don’t want a million tanks. So I’m trying to strategize how to set this up to where I’m not buried in tanks but still producing great numbers and have space for the fry to grow out.

I want to get like 20-25 males and 275-280 females, could these numbers work in a 125gal tank or is it absolutely imperative to divide them up into multiple tanks? Obviously I’ll have other smaller tanks for the fry. I was going to just use a bunch of plastic totes to grow the fry out on my balcony and maybe some other places in the condo.

My next concern is coming up with a source for hornwort I can’t seem to find enough of it for all my tanks to fill them as much as I would like to.

I’m planning to buy all 1 or 2 strains of guppies, I know if I get 300 guppies and there’s 2 strains I’ll definitely need to separate them so that’s another reason Ill probably stick to just 1 kind do it’s easier to keep them together without cross breeding them. Probably gonna go with pink grass guppies from buyguppy.com
