[OC] Fanfic – Rock, Paper, Scissors: Anya vs. Damian

Summary: Anya defeats everyone in Rock, Paper, Scissors; no one has won a single round. She has the advantage of knowing their next move. However, there is one person with whom this advantage doesn't work well. (Same timeline as the Manga/Anime; Characters not aged-up.)

Anya can read everyone's mind with ease. But Damian can read her face.

Type: This is a fluff piece where kids are having fun.

Twilight was already reacting to the first insult to his family

During the Eden interview, Twilight had already told himself that they needed to avoid provoking Swan. Yet, when Swan implied that Yor was a bad wife, Twilight responds with "And who are you to-" before Yor tells him its okay. And then he calms himself down. He had to put in the effort to calm himself down. He reminds himself that she isn't his real wife.

Then after the Real Mama vs. 2nd Mama question, Twilight asked for a different question, and Anya cries. Twilight controls himself again. He had to remind himself that they are not a real family. Yor gets angry and Swan insults her again. And Twilight loses it. And even then, his actions and thoughts are out of sync.

The reason we KNOW none of it was for optics or for the mission is because he follows it up with "I can't believe I did that" and "I'm unfit as a spy".

I know some of us believe that he has been in love since day 1, and some believe that he is only fond of Yor, but still isn't in love with her.

I am in the boat that he has felt responsible and protective of Anya and Yor since Day 1 with each of them. And that's the reason he has to keep "for the mission"ing it all away to justify why he always picks the option that makes his girls happy instead of what's practical.

Practically, he should have stayed quiet in the interview. Practically, he shouldn't care that Yor likes apple puddings. Practically, he should push Anya to study more and scold her for getting any of her Tonitrus. Practically, he shouldn't care if Bond gets walks. Practically, he shouldn't care that Yor's coworkers treated her shittily. Practically, he shouldn't have given Anya the castle and princess reward. Practically, he shouldn't have felt guilty for testing Yor (after Yuri's visit).

He hasn't taken too many practical decisions since he brought Anya back from the kidnappers in Mission 1. The times he does lose his mind at Anya are overwhelmingly when she is in danger. He can't stand her tears. And if she is happy about something, he gives in.

Ironically, Anya was forced to study and not allowed to have fun with researchers much more than with the spy who adopted her with the sole purpose of making her an imperial scholar. Of course, that's not the bar for parenthood. And Twilight and Yor are fabulous at giving her a childhood they couldn't even have dreamed of themselves.

But, he adopted her with a purpose, which he barely remembers on a day-to-day basis. And from very early on. He married Yor for a specific reason, none of which involve keeping her happy. Protecting their happiness isn't a new advent. It was something he's always been doing.

No spoiler tags because everything here is covered in the Anime.

Twilight's change of demeanour – Pissed to whatever that soft expression is called

This is from Mission 23. Twilight wore such a pissed expression in the first image. And then look at how soft it becomes when he sees a sleeping Anya! Awwwwwww!

Also added the middle image because Yor looks adorable.

Honestly though, even before that mission, he wasn't able to get very angry with Anya. The moment she makes a sad face, he's a goner.

Doggy, You Be Excited Too!

"It's not called an 'Anya Park', you know!"

I love this little girl so much!

Yor's side thoughts are always such gems. Do you all have any favourites?

Yor has the best thoughts in the Manga. Some things that get skipped in the Anime.

My favourite is: "C-4 Again? You ALWAYS want to use C-4!" Bahahahahahaha! This was too funny!

Do you have any favourite side thoughts (Yor's or otherwise)?

Edit: I had to delete the previous post – it had some formatting issues. Sorry!

Where did the Chapman theory come from?

All Chloe lovers – I was wondering where the Chapman theory came from? I went through the Chloe chapters in the Manga, but there wasn't anything that jumped out at me. Am I missing something here? I myself subscribe to it, but have no idea why!

Edit: I'm really sorry. I didn't realise I didn't mention what I meant. The Chapman theory is that Chloe's last name is Chapman. Chapman is also the last name of the Minister before Desmond. A lot of fanfics (including mine) use Chloe Chapman as her full name. I wanted to know if we had a specific fan theory or if it was just one that sounded so good, that we all ran with it.

Do Anya's classmates know that Yor is her adoptive mother?

I was reading the manga and suddenly realised this is not very clear. Do her classmates (specifically Becky, Damian, Ewen, and Emile – the people always around her) know that Yor isn't her biological mother? That she's Anya's second mother? Is there evidence that I have missed for and against this?

In the part right after the bus arc, Damian insults Anya's parents, but it seems like he doesn't know that Yor isn't her biological mother.

I find it hard to believe that Swan is the only person who insulted the Forgers for Yor being a second mother. That is probably an attitude in the snobbish, upperclass circles. So, if no one's made it a point to insult her for this, it probably means they don't know.

(Irrelevant to my question, but I am hoping that if this is yet to happen, Damian has matured enough at least not to participate, if he can't defend her.)

I have marked the discussion as a spoiler because if there IS any evidence, it'll probably be from the later Manga chapters.

Edited to change "real" to "biological".

Eta: someone referred to the arc where they remember this happening. I've found and added the image. At least these kids know. Though I do wonder when she told them.

Will twilight be fine (chapter 134)

I think twilight will be perfectly fine at the end of this party. My theory is because of the following:

- in chapter 133, Yor is in office and there's a sub-panel where we see "ring ring" (marked in red in the 2nd image). But we don't see who the call is for and who's calling.

- in chapter 134, during the party, Yuri calls Yor and cries and calls her to come to the party.

- in chapter 133, Anya hangs out with Becky and Martha in the city, while Becky is trying to get scouted

- in chapter 134, Anya is leaving with Becky and Martha.

I think chapter 133 occurs in parallel with 134.

The ring ring in that panel is not followed by any call in ch 133 itself. So it is probably the time when Yuri called her in ch 134.

Anya is off with Becky. And ch 134 shows her being picked up.

133 shows what's going on with Anya and Yor and ch 134 shows the same time period from Twilight's point of view.

And ch 133 ends with Twilight and Yor washing dishes and Anya coming home. So I think there isn't enough time for Yor to go to the party. My prediction is that it's the chief and not Yor. And Twilight comes home and washes dishes with his wife after safely escaping the party.

Edit: Thanks to multiple people who debunked my theory. I thought I'd cracked something but this happens on a weekend and the 133 was on a weekday. I'm glad because then we get to watch Twilight squirm and Yor and Chloe might meet each other.

I think WISE would take care of Anya and Yor.

And that's fine. But what would happen to Operation Strix? All 3 of them are specifically required for the success of the mission. Others can't just replace them. Rich kids love Anya and she has a soft gateway towards Damian. Melinda loves and trusts Yor. Because of which she trusts Loid Forger and gives her information about her family. Donovan knows the Forgers by name.

If Twilight dies, WISE would have to start a new operation, assuming they had someone capable of doing it. And that sounds pretty tough. Because they can't expect Anya dn Yor to redirect the relationships and information towards a new agent.

I think it'll get abandoned and can't think of an alternative. Does anyone have any other theory I might have missed?

Anya reached a little above Loid's knees in the beginning. Look at her now! She reaches his waist & above. Our tiny baby is all grown up. And I think it has been a little more than 6 months. I am excited to see if she grows a lot. She is around 5 in the beginning, a whole year behind her peers. She is also shorter than everyone in school because of this. My headcanon is that she'll always be shorter than her peers because when everyone around her hits their growth spurt, she wouldn't have yet. Plus, she was undernourished in important developmental years. Maybe all the hamburgers that Loid feeds her could help now, but my headcanon is that she'll be a short girl in general. What do ya'll think?

The first image is from Mission 1. The second one is from Mission 122 - that's the latest image I could find where they're both standing next to each other.
